1. In MS Word, write an academic paper on the dangers of distracted driving. Use the topic sentence, "Many things can cause distracted driving." Email your paragraph to me and be sure to include:
  • Name and date
  • Title
  • Topic sentence (Many things can cause distracted driving.)
  • 3 (or more) supporting sentences (and if examples if possible)
  • Concluding sentence

3. Complete a listening dictation (without cheating!):

4. Email me about your week! What did you find easy? What was difficult? What do you want to do more of? What new things would you like to learn? What topics are you interested in learning?

5. Oh no! Your classmate, Shibika was in a serious car accident! She has asked you to email the teacher to let her know that she can't come to school for a while (4-6 weeks). Send the teacher an email and explain the situation. Include the following in your formal email:
  • Greeting
  • Brief summary of the accident (based on the reading of, "The Accident")
  • When Shibika plans to return to school
  • Offer to collect Shibika's school work
  • Closing

Homework for Easter Weekend

1. In MS Word, write an academic paragraph about your country. Save your document and email it to me (smartwise1@hotmail.com).

2. Your friend, Brian wants to apply for citizenship. Email him and explain the process to him. Don't forget to wish him good luck!

3. It's Easter! Send Christine an Easter card from www.123greetings.com.

4. Email Christine about a special holiday in your culture. Include:

  • The importance of this holiday 
  • What people do 
  • What people wear
  • Food involved
  • Your favourite part of the holiday
5. Write a reflection about this past week. What did you like learning this week? What was difficult? What will you try to work on?
