1. Write an academic paragraph on the advantages or disadvantages of using a cell phone in the classroom. Please keep in mind all the criteria for an academic paper:

• Use Times New Roman font size 14
• Double spaced
• Name and date in the top right corner
• Title in the center
• Indent your paragraph
• Paragraph form
• Topic sentence
• At least 3 supporting sentences
• Concluding sentence

2. You have a dentist appointment on Thursday June 1st @1 pm and will be absent in the afternoon. Write a formal email to your teacher informing her of this. Include:

• Formal greeting, body, closing
• Appointment information
• Request for missed work
• Correct spelling, grammar, capitalization, and punctuation

3. Please try to do an online listening self-assessment. Visit this site and register: https://clb-osa.ca/

This assessment may take about an hour to complete. There are other assessments in the other skills too (reading, writing, & speaking) if you would like to try them, but for class, please focus on the listening assessment only. Email me your CLB level according to your assessment results. Good luck!
