1. Write an academic paragraph on the advantages or disadvantages of using a cell phone in the classroom. Please keep in mind all the criteria for an academic paper:
- Use Times New Roman font size 14
- Double spaced
- Name and date in the top right corner
- Title in the center
- Indent your paragraph
- Paragraph form
- Topic sentence
- At least 3 supporting sentences
- Concluding sentence
2. You have a dentist appointment on Thursday June 1st @1 pm and will be absent in the afternoon. Write a formal email to your teacher informing her of this. Include:
- Formal greeting, body, closing
- Appointment information
- Request for missed work
- Correct spelling, grammar, capitalization, and punctuation

This assessment may take about an hour to complete. There are other assessments in the other skills too (reading, writing, & speaking) if you would like to try them, but for class, please focus on the listening assessment only.
